“Her Fight, Our Fight” was the event’s name, given by Courtney Jackson, the event’s host. Jackson’s goal is to recognize, advocate for, and encourage women to connect with one another by sharing their experiences with health.

This past weekend, a group of African American women got together to create a secure environment where they could share their personal experiences receiving medical care.

The host of this occasion, Courtney Jackson, named this occasion “Her Battle, Our Battle.” Jackson’s goal is to recognize, promote, and encourage women to connect with one another through the sharing of their health experiences.

Food, a raffle, and a chance for these women to share their own personal medical experiences were all part of the Saturday event.

Jackson said those that didn’t make it, ought to remember a couple of ways of supporting themselves as well as other people.

According to Courtney Jackson, “Advocate for yourselves, connect with each other, and find resources for yourself — a lot of treatments, we are not being told about, we are being told about surgeries – and that’s all.” Connect with others, advocate, and don’t be afraid to speak up—there are other natural remedies. People frequently have the impression that when we speak up, we are not only advocating for ourselves but also being kind. You have the right. You are entitled to it.”

Jackson and a portion of the ladies that went to this occasion… say this is noticeable the first of many social events — where they will proceed to elevate and uphold one another.
