The Golden State Warriors did not get the result they wanted on Wednesday, as they suffered a tough 115-113 loss against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center in San Francisco.

Despite the loss, Warriors superstar point guard Steph Curry delighted basketball fans with another incredible performance, especially in the fourth quarter.

The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player even set a new NBA record with his fiery shooting in the final period. According to StatMamba, the 36-year-old Curry set a new NBA record for most points in a fourth quarter of a game played on Christmas Day.

Curry racked up a game-high 38 points against the Lakers, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter. He knocked down seven of his 11 attempts from the field in the period, including a clutch, game-tying 3-pointer with under seven seconds remaining in regulation. The Lakers answered that shot with an Austin Reaves layup on the other end of the floor to escape with a win and nullify Curry’s incredible night.

The loss to the Lakers was Golden State’s second in a row and fifth in six games. Golden State, which dropped to 15-14, will look to snap that skid on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers at the shiny new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
