Brighton Complete Double Deadline-Day Signings

Brighton have completed the recruitment of Nigerian winger Femi Azeez from Millwall for an initial £12.5 million, with the transfer potentially exceeding £15 million if performance-related bonuses are met.

‎The 25-year-old has agreed to a four-year deal at the Amex Stadium, becoming the club’s 11th arrival during the summer transfer window.

‎Azeez enjoyed an impressive campaign with Millwall last season, registering 11 goals and eight assists across 37 appearances.

‎His performances earned him recognition in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

‎The winger had been keen to secure a move to the Premier League, with Millwall turning down at least three previous offers from Brighton before an agreement was finally reached.

‎The transfer represents a record outgoing fee for Millwall.

‎Azeez joined the London club from Reading in 2024 for approximately £1 million and still had two years remaining on his contract.

‎Brighton confirmed that a deal sheet was submitted before Tuesday’s 23:00 BST deadline, allowing negotiations to continue until the transfer was formally completed at 01:00 on Wednesday.

‎The Seagulls also secured the services of Spanish defensive midfielder Chema Andres from Stuttgart for £15.5 million.

‎Andres, 21, has signed a five-year contract after Brighton reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side on deadline day.

‎The Spain Under-21 international featured 41 times for Stuttgart last season after moving there from Real Madrid in 2025.

‎He developed through Madrid’s academy and made his La Liga debut in January 2025.

‎During his sole season in Germany, Andres helped Stuttgart secure Champions League qualification.

‎Brighton have been able to spend heavily after generating substantial income from player departures, most notably Carlos Baleba’s £70 million transfer to Manchester United.
