Ghana’s President To Host Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa For State Visit

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, is set to welcome Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa for a three-day state visit beginning today, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.

‎According to a statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, President Mnangagwa is scheduled to land at the Accra International Airport at 3:00 p.m. today. He will receive a ceremonial welcome featuring full military honours, including a guard of honour and a 21-gun salute.

‎The visit will kick off with bilateral discussions at the Peduase Lodge following a private meeting between the two heads of state. Key topics on the agenda include trade, tourism, agriculture, healthcare, sanitation, anti-corruption measures, and strategies to combat unemployment.

‎The discussions are expected to conclude with the signing of Memoranda of Understanding in areas of mutual interest.

‎During his stay, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant to gain insights into Ghana’s healthcare and waste management systems. Additionally, he plans to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where he will lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding father.

‎To commemorate the visit, President Mahama will host a state banquet in honour of President Mnangagwa on the evening of his arrival, reflecting the enduring friendship between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

‎President Mnangagwa is slated to depart on Friday, April 3, 2026, marking the conclusion of his visit.
