The Diaspora African Forum (DAF) Embassy has launched a new mobile app designed to give both Africans at home and people in the diaspora easy access to information, opportunities and activities across Africa.

The app was launched on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the DAF Embassy at the W.E.B. Du Bois Center in Accra.

Unlike a platform focused only on connecting diasporans, the app brings several services together in one place, including diaspora news, information on Ghana, business and networking opportunities, tourism and ways to support community projects.

Speaking at the launch, DAF Ambassador and Head of Mission, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, said technology would help DAF reach more people around the world and share its work with the global diaspora.

She said the app would help people connect in areas such as business, charity, education, knowledge sharing and other activities, while also helping those interested in Africa find useful information.

“The diaspora is an integral pillar of Africa’s present and future. Through this mobile platform, we are bringing the continent directly to the palms of over 380 million brothers and sisters across the globe—fostering community, keeping them informed, and providing a direct link back home…The app, which is available on both Google Play Store for Android and Apple App Store for iOS, can also be downloaded by scanning a QR code.” She added.

The app features a Resource Center with information about DAF and its activities in Ghana. Its Information Center also provides information on citizenship, business and networking.

For people interested in visiting Ghana, the app has a tourism section with information to help them learn more about the country.

Users can also access a diaspora news feed and follow DAF’s activities through its linked Instagram and Facebook platforms.

Another feature is the Sankofa Wall, which allows people to honour and remember their ancestors by adding their names to the platform.

The app also provides ways for people to support students through scholarships, computers and other educational needs. Users can make one-time or regular contributions through the platform.

The Director of the DAF Youth Empowerment Training Center and Managing Director of Afriam, Mr. Kevin Williams, who developed the app, said it was designed to be simple and easy for users to navigate.

According to DAF, the platform will serve as a digital space where people in Africa and the global diaspora can access information, connect with one another, discover opportunities and stay updated on activities across the continent.

Note: The app is available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can also scan a QR code to download it.
