5-Year-Old Twin Sisters Drown In Pool During Family Vacation

Parker and Paisley Sandidge, 5-year-old African American twins from Georgia, were visiting Florida with their family when they sadly drowned in a rental home pool in Kissimmee. Authorities say a teenager was supervising at the home at the time.

The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the girls as Parker Sandidge and Paisley Sandidge, both 5 years old. Officials confirmed that both deaths were caused by drowning and ruled the manner of death as accidental, according to People.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a vacation rental in Kissimmee, Florida, shortly after 11 a.m. on June 12. When first responders arrived, they found the twins unresponsive at the bottom of the pool.

Emergency crews rushed the girls to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, but both were later pronounced dead.

Investigators said the family had traveled from Georgia for a vacation stay. Four adults left the rental home to get food, while a 15-year-old stayed behind with the children. Authorities said the teen reportedly fell asleep after the adults left. Another child later realized the twins were missing and alerted others.

Officials said homicide detectives reviewed the case as part of standard procedure for child drowning deaths. The investigation is still ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances.

A GoFundMe page was created to help the family following the tragedy. It has so far raised nearly $23,000.
