The final episode of the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians honors the memory of the late Lance Reddick, renowned for his portrayal of Zeus in the Disney+ series.

According to Deadline, the closing credits of the Season 1 finale feature a heartfelt tribute with a title card that reads: “In loving memory of Lance Reddick.” The actor, celebrated for his roles in productions like John Wick and The Wire, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on March 17.

Reddick’s role in Percy Jackson stands as one of his last performances, given that his demise occurred shortly after the completion of production.

Renowned author Rick Riordan, along with many others, expressed their respects for Reddick following his passing, acknowledging that “his gravitas and regal bearing made him perfect for the king of the gods.”

Beyond his contributions to film and television, Reddick was also recognized as an avid enthusiast of video games and made appearances in various titles, including the Destiny and Horizon franchises.

In a touching gesture, Destiny players gathered in the game’s hub, The Tower, to commemorate Reddick, while Horizon: Forbidden West incorporated an in-game tribute within its Burning Shores expansion, paying homage to the actor’s legacy.
