Georgia State Representatives Omari Crawford and Inga Willis recently hosted a delegation from Ghana in Atlanta, Georgia, with the aim of promoting travel, tourism, and diaspora relations.
The event, titled “The Ghana to ATL Affair,” was a collaborative effort between Maurice Cheetham of African Roots Travel and brought together Georgia Business Leaders and Community Stakeholders interested in exploring opportunities in Africa.
The event kicked off with strategic partnership meetings between the Ghana Delegation and Atlanta Business Owners. Notable attendees included Jason Carter of One Music Fest, who engaged with the delegation to identify potential marketing and collaboration opportunities between Ghana and Georgia.
Later in the evening, the AC Midtown Hotel Rooftop hosted “The ATL Meet & Greet” event, providing attendees with networking and socializing opportunities.
The highlight of the event was the Ghana Business Forum, which took place on Monday, April 29 at the Georgia State Capital from 12-3 pm. Led by State Representative Omari Crawford, the Ghana delegation comprised Yofi Grant, CEO of Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Akwesi Agyemang, CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, and Annabelle McKenzie, Director of A Beyond the Return.
The delegation received a private tour of the Georgia State House, where they learned about the state’s rich political history and culture. Distinguished legislators, including State Representative James Beverly, Georgia Minority Leader Billy Mitchell, Georgia Minority Caucus Whip Senator Donzella James, and State Representative Segun Adeyina, were also in attendance, along with other esteemed guests.
During the forum, CEO Yofi Grant delivered an Africa Business Investment Presentation to Georgia Legislators and Community Stakeholders, highlighting the investment potential in Ghana. Attendees were treated to a catered lunch featuring delicious Georgia cuisine provided by Divine Catering.

He described “The Ghana to ATL Affair” as a resounding success, showcasing the potential for a strong partnership between the State of Georgia and Ghana in various business sectors.
