White Woman Arrested For Attacking, Dumping Soda On 11-Year-Old Black Boy

Kimberly Jennings, a 62-year-old woman from Greensboro, North Carolina, has been arrested after a viral video showed her dumping soda on an 11-year-old boy’s face and striking him with the bottle at an apartment complex pool. She now faces assault charges.

Police said the incident happened on Thursday, August 3, at Sedgefield Garden Apartments in Greensboro. Officers were called around 2:30 p.m. to investigate reports of an assault involving children near the pool area.

According to Atlanta Black Star, the video, shared widely online, showed Jennings, who works as the property manager of the complex, pouring soda on a boy identified as Jace before hitting him with the bottle. Witnesses said the confrontation began when Jennings allegedly pulled the hair of Jace’s younger sister.

The child’s mother, Joella Lee, called the act “child abuse” and said her family was traumatized. She demanded Jennings be fired, saying, “I want her life destroyed. I want her to have nothing and be nothing like she made my kids feel.”

Jace’s father, Robert Eury, also condemned the attack. “You don’t need to put your hands on nobody’s child at all. It isn’t your responsibility,” he said.

The incident sparked immediate outrage in the community. The next day, dozens of supporters gathered outside the apartment complex with signs reading “stop the violence” and “end racism.” The Greensboro NAACP also denounced the assault, vowing not to tolerate racism or housing discrimination.

Residents said the confrontation highlighted ongoing issues with Jennings, who they claim has a history of aggressive and discriminatory behavior toward tenants and visitors. The viral video intensified those concerns and fueled calls for her removal.

Authorities confirmed the investigation is ongoing as Jennings faces assault charges.
