Carlos Queiroz Parts Ways With Black Stars

Carlos Queiroz has left his position as coach of Ghana’s senior national football team after reaching an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to end his contract.

‎The Portuguese tactician announced his departure in a statement following discussions with the football governing body, saying both sides agreed that ending their working relationship was the appropriate decision in the interest of the country’s football.

‎Queiroz expressed gratitude to the GFA and its president for giving him the opportunity to lead the Black Stars, describing his time in charge as an honour.

‎He said he took up the role with the objective of helping Ghana develop a stronger national team and creating a better pathway for the country’s emerging football talent.

‎However, the former coach acknowledged that several conditions he believed were important for achieving those ambitions had not been fully met.

‎He also pointed to the team’s recent results as a factor in the decision to bring his tenure to an end.

‎Queiroz praised the Black Stars players for their dedication and commitment while representing the nation and urged Ghanaians to continue backing the squad.

‎He maintained that Ghana has considerable footballing ability and said the current generation could accomplish significant achievements if given unity, support and a suitable working environment.

‎The former coach also expressed appreciation to his technical staff, supporters and the Ghanaian public for their encouragement and hospitality throughout his time with the national team.

‎Queiroz concluded his message by reaffirming his respect for Ghana and the Black Stars, stressing that the interests of the country and its football should remain the priority.
