Adelaide Somuah Twum Crowned Miss Grand Ghana 2026
Ms. Adelaide Somuah Twum was crowned Miss Grand Ghana 2026 on Saturday after weeks of competition that tested the contestants’ intelligence, leadership, communication, advocacy, and commitment to social causes.
The 29-year-old won the title during the grand finale held at The African Regent Hotel in Accra, beating two other finalists to claim the crown.
The event showcased culture, class, and style as the contestants confidently walked the runway in elegant outfits.
One of the biggest highlights of the night was the Question and Answer session, where the contestants demonstrated their confidence, public speaking skills, and knowledge of important social issues. Their performances impressed both the judges and the audience.
Ms. Adelaide secured the crown after giving thoughtful and confident answers on issues affecting young women in Ghana. Her strong stage presence, clear communication, and charisma also helped her stand out throughout the competition.
The event opened with all the contestants introducing themselves and sharing the values they represent. A live musical performance by the DJ added excitement and created an energetic atmosphere for the audience.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Convening Founder and Head of Mission of the African Union Diaspora African Forum. Ambassador Bennett, who has spent more than 45 years promoting African diaspora engagement, served as one of the judges.

Also present was Miss Grand Ghana 2023 winner Kitava-Yvettlana Fosuwaa, a Ghanaian-Cambodian born in Bangkok, Thailand, and raised in Sisaket Province. She currently serves as the National Director of Miss Grand Ghana. Other guests from different organizations also attended the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett thanked the founder of Miss Grand International, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, National Director Kitava-Yvettlana Fosuwaa, and the Thai community for creating a platform that empowers women, promotes peace, supports humanitarian work, and encourages people to stand against war and violence.

Miss Grand Ghana is Ghana’s national beauty pageant that selects the country’s representative for Miss Grand International. The international pageant was founded in Thailand in 2013 by Nawat Itsaragrisil.
Miss Grand International is built around the message, “Stop the War and Violence.” The pageant promotes peace, social responsibility, humanitarian work, and effective communication. Contestants are expected to be role models who speak on important issues affecting their communities and support charitable activities.

Miss Grand Ghana also aims to promote Ghana’s culture, tourism, fashion, and national identity while encouraging young women to develop confidence, leadership, public speaking skills, and community service.
As the new queen, Ms. Adelaide Somuah Twum will represent Ghana at the Miss Grand International 2026 pageant, which will be held in India.
