Rapper Offset was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Casino yesterday evening and is currently in stable condition, according to a spokesperson for the artist.
“We can confirm that Offset was shot and is presently at the hospital receiving medical attention,” the spokesperson stated. “He is stable and under close observation.”
The Seminole Police Department reported that officers responded to an incident in the valet area of the hotel and casino shortly after 7 p.m. One individual was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Authorities have detained two suspects in connection with the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing. Police confirmed that the scene has been secured and operations at the Hard Rock remain unaffected. Details surrounding the shooting are still unclear.
The 34-year-old rapper, born Kiari Cephus, rose to fame as a member of the Atlanta-based trio Migos, which was established in 2008. The group gained widespread recognition in 2013 with their hit single “Versace” and achieved major success in 2016 with “Bad and Boujee,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The trio, which included Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset, grew up together in Atlanta. Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew, while Offset was a close family friend.
In 2022, internal conflicts led to the disbandment of Migos. Tragically, Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was fatally shot outside a bowling alley in Houston in November of that year at the age of 28.
Patrick Xavier Clark was indicted by a grand jury for Takeoff’s murder in May 2023. He has pleaded not guilty, and the case is pending trial.
Offset shares three children with renowned hip-hop artist Cardi B, whom he wed in 2017. The couple publicly announced their separation in late 2023, with Cardi B filing for divorce in 2024.
Since the dissolution of Migos, Offset has concentrated on his solo career, releasing his album “Set It Off” in 2023, featuring collaborations with artists such as Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Future, and Cardi B. His latest album, “Kiari,” was released in August last year.
