US Embassy In Nigeria Concerned About A Potential Terrorist Attack On Citizens

In a security warning to U.S. citizens in Nigeria late Monday, the U.S. embassy to the West African country cautioned its nationals of a potential “terrorist threat” against U.S. facilities.

This comes after many of the country’s Shi’ite Muslim minority influenced by Iran, took to the streets with threats of pro-Iranian protests in support of Iran in the ongoing U.S.-Israel war against Iran

“U.S. citizens should take precautionary measures when traveling to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja, U.S.-affiliated schools, and the commercial capital of Nigeria, Lagos,” the embassy stated.

According to Nigerian Media reports, thousands of protesters in Northern Nigeria have taken to the streets, embarking on pro-Iranian protests since the beginning of the war. Nigerian authorities have since increased security efforts in Abuja following these demonstrations.
