World Record Holder Tobi Amusan Wins Silver In 100m Hurdles

Nigeria’s track queen, Tobi Amusan, once again proved her class on the global stage as she stormed to a silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Amusan clocked a blistering 12.29 seconds, finishing just behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who set a new National Record of 12.24s to clinch the gold medal.

The bronze medal went to Grace Stark of the United States, who crossed the line in 12.34s, while another American, Masai Russell, narrowly missed out on the podium with a time of 12.44s.

The race lived up to expectations, delivering drama, speed, and world-class performances. Amusan, who has consistently carried Nigeria’s hopes in the hurdles, showed her trademark power and resilience, pushing Kambundji all the way to the line.

With her silver medal, Amusan cements her status as one of the most dominant hurdlers in the world.

This achievement adds to her growing collection of international honors and reinforces her reputation as Nigeria’s most consistent athlete on the global athletics circuit.

The result marks another high point in Amusan’s career as she continues her quest for more global titles, while the rivalry with Kambundji and the emerging American stars promises to make the women’s sprint hurdles one of the most exciting events in athletics.
