Ghana has been designated as the inaugural recipient of France’s National Health Platform following discussions between President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
The announcement came yesterday after a meeting at the Élysée Palace, where both leaders explored avenues for collaboration in crucial sectors such as health, agriculture, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and regional security.
The National Health Platform, characterized as a health compact, aims to bolster Ghana’s healthcare system and ongoing reforms. President Mahama expressed his appreciation for this initiative and thanked the French government for their partnership.
The meeting was part of President Mahama’s brief visit to France, during which he also co-chaired the One Health Summit 2026 in Lyon.

President Macron commended Mahama’s involvement and acknowledged the positive effects of the Accra Reset Initiative, which is designed to tackle global health issues.
Additionally, the dialogue included strategies to enhance cooperation in agriculture to boost food production, alongside partnerships focusing on artificial intelligence and maternal health.
