The U.S. Central Command has disclosed that the two extra servicemen who were announced missing after being involved in a plane crash during a midair refueling operation in Iraq on Thursday, which was reported to have killed four of its personnel, have also been found dead, increasing the death toll in the tragic plane crash to six.

A search and rescue operation to find the two military men after the incident had occurred, which was announced by the Pentagon led to this discovery.

The Central Command said that the circumstances surrounding the crash were being investigated, however, it ruled out the possibility that the incident was a result of “hostile fire,” or “friendly fire.”

Reports said that the identities of the victims were being withheld so their next of kin could first be informed, adding that a second plane which was involved in the operation landed safely.

This brings the total death toll of U.S. servicemen killed in the war against Iran to 13.
