A group of Nigerian-American professionals in the United States have launched a think-tank group named Diaspora Solution Group Nigeria (DSGN) with the aim of using their expertise to provide solutions to the challenges facing the country, particularly insecurity. According to the spokesperson for DSGN, Edwin Aimufua, the group was founded on February 17, 2023, in Los Angeles and Seattle, US as part of efforts to contribute to the development of Nigeria, which is abundant in resources but still suffers from poverty.

The group will focus on generating innovative solutions and policies to fix infrastructure, security, and challenges across all sectors while urging other Nigerians in the diaspora to join the organization to create real solutions to the myriad problems besieging Nigeria. The organization will serve as a platform for policy advocacy, innovation creation, and solutions in the areas of law and order, infrastructure building, and insecurity issues. Aimufua stated that the organization was poised to generate effective solutions from the diaspora to the myriad problems adversely affecting Nigeria and Africa at large.

He further said that the continent, which is the richest in resources, has been ravaged by famine, violence, education inequality, poverty and degradation of humanity. The future looks bleak to the youth who are evermore demoralized by the lack of employment opportunities and an ongoing dearth of good leadership. The organization aims to bring skilled Nigerian professionals together to create a prosperous life in their home country, while building solutions to address issues that are adversely affecting Nigeria and Africa at large.
