As part of the Trump regime’s crackdown on immigration, Eswatini received four more third-world deportees from the U.S. on Thursday, bringing the total number of deportees Eswatini has received from the South American country to 19.
Eswatini, an absolute monarchy ruled by King Mswati III, received $5.1 million from the trump administration to receive them. “In line with this agreement, the nation has reviewed another cohort of four third-country nationals from the United States,” a statement from the government of Eswatini stated.
According to reports, two of the new deportees are Somali nationals, one from Sudan, and one from Tanzania. In July last year, deportees received by the Southern African country included nationals of Cuba, Yemen, Laos, and Vietnam.
Eswatini has been criticized for aiding the U.S. in human rights violations, however, the high court dismissed a lawsuit filed by local human rights lawyers that challenged the country’s involvement.
The African country is one of several countries that have engaged in such a secretive deal with the U.S. Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Sudan are among the African countries that have aided the U.S. in its immigration crackdown.
