A noteworthy family-style restaurant named Drexell & Honeybee’s in Brewton, Alabama, is making waves nationally due to its distinctive approach – serving meals without any set prices.

The restaurant, owned by the dynamic husband and wife duo, Freddie and Lisa Thomas-McMillan, operates on a donation-only basis, eliminating cash registers and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, is nourished.

Operating from Tuesday to Thursday during lunchtime, the McMillans diligently prepare and serve a variety of soulful dishes and Southern delicacies, including fried chicken, cornbread, and collard greens, featured on their ever-changing menu.

Customers at Drexell & Honeybee’s need does not fret about the bill; they are encouraged to leave whatever they can, whether it be a handful of coins, a generous donation, or a heartfelt thank-you note. Remarkably, the owner’s channel uses 100% of these contributions towards covering operational costs, with no profit motive involved.

Despite not financially benefiting from their efforts, the McMillans find immense joy in serving individuals from diverse backgrounds. Their motivation lies in the satisfaction of witnessing patrons leave the restaurant “with a full stomach, a full heart, and the understanding that you are loved and worthy of love.” This unique approach reflects their commitment to fostering a sense of community and compassion through the universal language of food.
